An air ambulance landed at a play park in Grantham for a “medical emergency” which resulted in two patients being taken to Lincoln County Hospital.
The incident was at a private address near the green on Princess Drive, Grantham, this morning
Despite it originally causing Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance to get to the scene, it was then decided that they were not required to assist the person in need of care.
Instead paramedics treated both patients and they were taken to hospital in ambulances, rather than the air ambulance.
East Midlands Ambulance Service was first to the scene at 9.38am, where there was a “medical emergency” at an address by the play park.
A spokesperson for East Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 9.38am on December 8 to a medical emergency at a private address in Grantham.
“We sent a paramedic in a car, two crewed ambulances and the air ambulance. Two patients were taken to Lincoln County Hospital via crewed ambulances.”
A Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance spokesperson said: “The initial 999 call requested our attendance at a location in the Grantham area. Once on scene, it was determined that our doctor and paramedic did not need to provide critical intervention and the patient was assisted by the ambulance service. Our crew and helicopter cleared the scene and returned to base at HEMS Way.”
