A1 north of Grantham closed tonight following collision

The southbound lane in the Foston areawill be closed overnight. 

This is to allow maintenance of the carriageway following the earlier collison.  Please avoid the area, find an alternative route, or follow the diversions.

Emergency services were called to the A1 at Foston, near to the Long Bennington turn off, just after 11.15am today following a report of a collision between an HGV, and two maintenance lorries.  

The southbound lane has been closed to allow for investigations and recovery.  One lane of the northbound lane is also closed.  We expect these closures to remain in place until approximately 3pm today. 

One man, the driver of the HGV, was been taken to hospital with injuries described as minor.
