On Monday 26 October The Gingerbreads Soccer School held its first ever Half Term Soccer Day. Starting at 9am the group were first given a tour of the Stadium before enjoying 2 hours of football skills and games.
Lunch was provided in The Gingerbread with all the participants enjoying their sausage and chips. A game of quick cricket started the afternoon session and was followed by a football game. To finish the activities a penalty shootout competition was held.
Across the day everyone was assessed, to choose who was the Sport Person of their age group.
Thanks to David Black of DB Fire Safety Ltd the Sports Persons and Penalty shootout winners all received a trophy, which were presented by KIA Motor Group.
The U8s Sports Person was Harrison Bexon, the prize for the U10s Sports Person went to Ashley Crowther and the U12s award went to Loren Hindmarsh.
The penalty shootout winners were Edward Brown and Carter Rayner. A special award was presented to Luke Kennedy Short.
The success of the day could not of happened without the help of the coaches, Paul Teare, Andrew Lambley and Jack Shaw. Along with assistance of Ben Webster and John Petkovic. A special thanks goes to Sue Leete for her assistance with the registrations and welfare, and Emma Lambley for making sure everyone was kept fed and watered.
