United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust is extremely pleased to welcome 90 newly qualified nurses to the organisation. The nurses take up their posts on wards across the Trust this week, providing a welcome boost to the teams.
Twenty-three nurses have joined Pilgrim hospital, 65 have joined Lincoln County hospital and two have already joined Grantham, with 2 more expected at a later date.
This fantastic success is part of the Trust’s ongoing recruitment campaign and follows close partnership working with local and regional universities to encourage the new recruits to choose Lincolnshire hospitals.
The majority of the nurses have come from the University of Lincoln, with others from neighbouring cities and the Open University. They have all successfully completed their preceptorship (introduction to the Trust and professional development) and are now in the process of taking up posts across our hospitals.
Leanne Franklin, at Grantham Hospital said: “I’m really looking forward to starting with the Trust and the training I’ve had so far has given me the knowledge and support to succeed in my role.
“My placement has been fantastic, there is a diverse range of patients that come through the door which means no two days are the same.
“There’s a really friendly atmosphere throughout the hospital and staff work really hard to make Grantham the best it can be for patients and staff.”
Liz Ball, Deputy Chief Nurse says: “We are so pleased to be welcoming the new nurses to our hospitals.
“It’s a great accolade that they have chosen our Trust, particularly as this is often based on the experience they received during their work placements, so for them to come back shows we are a great place to work.
“We hope everyone can help to support them and offer a warm welcome as they settle in to their roles.”
