BIG-hearted Keira Nettleton is in the final stages of planning her big day to raise money for sick children and their families.
The nine-year-old is holding a Rainbow Dash Day at Ancaster Village Hall, a rainbow-themed fancy dress and fun day on Saturday, August 1.
It promises to be fun for all the family – and especially those who love a bargain.
Keira, a pupil at Ancaster School, was inspired to raise funds by a school fashion show. She thought it would be a fun way to do something for children less fortunate than herself and their families, during ill health.
Keira said: “I’ve had lots of hospital appointments recently and it’s been really hard. It must be even worse for children who have to do it a lot. I want to raise money to help make it better.”
Keira’s proud mum, Sam said: “Keira has had a number of health investigations over the past copuple of years and has been so brave. I’m really proud of her for wanting to do something for children who are poorly.
“The Rainbow Trust does a fantastic job supporting the child and their family and it would be great to get as many people as possible along to raise money for them.”
Doors open for bargain hunters and fun seekers at Ancaster Village Hall at 10am, with a fancy dress parade (First prize a £10 Argos voucher) at 1pm.
There’s a bouncy castle, chocolate tombola, face-painting and children’s craft activity together with cakes and refreshments.
Top prizes in the raffle include a high-quality, ultra-thin retina display 7.85in tablet, hampers and a £10 H Samuel gift voucher.
So pop along and help Keira raise funds for this fantastic charity.
