Figures released today on the 2014 Key Stage 2 National Curriculum Assessments show that results in Lincolnshire are broadly similar to those in 2013.
A total of 13 schools are celebrating 100% of their pupils achieving Level 4 or above in English and Maths.
These include two in the Grantham area – Great Ponton CofE School and Brown’s CofE primary school, Horbling.
The proportion of Lincolnshire pupils leaving primary school with at least the expected level of achievement in reading, writing and mathematics has risen to 77%, up 1% from 2013.
This is in line with our statistical neighbours, but is below the national level for this measure where there has been a 4% increase.
In reading, 91% of pupils made the expected progress and 93% in writing. This is in line with national data, and is above our statistical neighbours.
In mathematics, 88% of pupils made the expected progress which is above our statistical neighbours but 2% below the national average.
Executive councillor for Children’s Services, Coun Patricia Bradwell, , said: “Teachers, with the support of parents in Lincolnshire, have been working hard to make sure children are achieving the important skills they need when they leave primary school.
“ I would like to congratulate the 13 schools that had 100% of their pupils achieving level 4 or above in English and Maths.
“However, we recognise that some results have improved nationally at a faster rate than here in Lincolnshire and there is work to do in order for us to catch up.
“We are determined to address this and will be offering targeted support, working with our schools, to improve the teaching and learning of key subject areas, particularly mathematics.”
