It was a great warm-up meet before the Grantham Club Champships.
Maddie Barnes travelled to Sheffield just for the 200 breast and it was well worth it. For the first time in her swim career, Maddie went under the three-minute mark improving by almost four seconds and demolishing the competition in her age group.
Eleanor Lythgoe also showed she is improving rapidly as she easily won her 200 fly event, improving by over 2 seconds. Eleanor also dropped 11s from her previous time in her 200IM – fantastic!

At the end Cameron swam 400 free and also went under the previous club record.
Ella Coleman showed determination and great racing spirit in the first day of winter club champships.
Ella swam a superb 50 breastroke race dropping two seconds from her previous personal best time and bettering her own club record.
The time was fast enough to break a county record which is massive achievement.
Luke Marriott showed strongly his true intention to come back to Midland squad.
After fantastic race Luke dropped blistering seven seconds from his previous 100 IM time touching the wall first out of all Grantham swimmers and inside the Midland qualifying time.
