DETECTIVES investigating an armed robbery at a pub in Whissendine are appealing for public help to trace those responsible.
The incident took place at about 9.30pm yesterday (Wednesday October 15) at The Three Horse Shoes, Main Street, Whissendine when two men entered the premises and threatened the landlord with a weapon, which was believed to be a firearm.
The suspects made off with cash. No one was injured during the incident and there were no customers in the pub at the time.
The suspects were wearing face coverings and both of them were about 5’10” tall and of medium build. Both of suspects have been described as having distinctive bright blue eyes.
Detective Constable 1625 Conroy Crowe is investigating the incident, he said: “We are in the initial stages of the investigation and in the process of carrying out enquiries locally including visiting local residents.
“We would urge anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area around 9.30pm yesterday to contact us. Even if you didn’t see anything but were in the area at that time we would like to speak to you.”
