David says…
The bus ‘service’ in Grantham is a disgrace.
My daughter works at Downtown and ‘tries’ to catch the bus outside the Black Dog in Watergate.
The Newark service is supposed to arrive in Watergate @ 10.00 am. The other day it did not!
She rang me to see if I could give her a lift, which luckily I was available to do.
As she walked from the stop, the bus appeared and she turned about and ran back towards the bus waving to the driver, who completely ignored her and carried on.
Which now means she has to work till 6 pm without a lunch break.
I know that the total lack of planning of the roadworks does not help but, this frequently happens and was going on way before the roadworks started and it has had similar results on other services which she has used over the years.
They are always spouting on about leave the car at home and walk, or use the bus.
I would certainly not recommend walking up or down Newark Hill Gonerby at any time of day or night, so I would suggest that the bus’service’ should be revised during major road schemes and maybe even a mini bus service to increase the availability.
Even the return service in the evening is timed to be at Downtown about six minutes before the shift ends so, is useless.
Do the bus CPC holders not communicate with the large employers in town? It would seem that the customer is the last person to be considered.
Rant over.
