Following a season of outstanding performances including a -9 round to force a play-off and setting a new tournament record, Billie-Jo has truly earnt her place on the LET
October, 2024 The QHotels Collection is proud to announce that ambassador, Billie-Jo Smith, has officially secured her Ladies European Tour (LET) card for 2025.
With a season filled with standout moments and consistent strong performances, Billie-Jo showed professional prowess through her remarkable perseverance and determination to secure her card.
“I’m so happy to have secured my LET card for 2025” said Smith. “It was my main goal at the start of the year, and to actually achieve this is just amazing. The last couple of years have been tough, and I’ve worked so hard to get to this point.”
Throughout her journey, The QHotels Collection has been proud to support Billie-Jo, providing her with facilities and accommodation to aid her training, competitions and recovery.
“We’ve supported Billie-Jo from early on in her career, and this success is a testament to her talent and resilience,” said Keith Pickard, Golf, Health Club & Spa Director at The QHotels Collection.
“Her dedication and passion for the sport align perfectly with our values, and we’re excited to see her continue to shine on the European stage. At The QHotels Collection, we pride ourselves on providing our ambassadors with the resources they need to excel, and Billie-Jo’s journey is a shining example of that commitment.”
Based at The QHotels Collection resort, Belton Woods Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort, Billie-Jo started 2024 with a commanding victory at The Rose Ladies Series event at Formby Ladies followed by nine top 10 finishes, including five in the top 5 over the subsequent 14 events.
Despite these achievements, the road to securing her LET card wasn’t without its challenges. Reflecting on her journey, Smith said: “2023 was a tough year. I had to undergo a minor calf operation and battled a shoulder injury, which forced me to take time off.”
“Thankfully, I had incredible facilities at Belton Woods and with the support of my physio, I was able to recover and prepare for LET Q-School in December 2023. Although I only secured partial playing rights, I made the decision to compete on the LET Access Series, determined to finish 2024 in the top 7, to gain full LET status.”
“The QHotels Collection has provided accommodation for several events in the UK, and Matt, the Director of Golf at Belton Woods, even supported me on the bag for some tournaments. I couldn’t have done it without this amazing team around me.”
Finishing the season with not only her tour card but also being nominated as the Player’s Player of the Year by her peers in recognition of her incredible resilience, this is just the beginning of an exciting 2025 for Billie-Jo Smith.
The QHotels Collection is equally thrilled about Billie-Jo’s achievements and looks forward to continuing its partnership with her as she enters this exciting new chapter.
