Avintage steam locomotive is set to pick up passengers at select stations as part of a “magnificent” journey. The Cathedrals Express will offer passengers the chance to experience the “excitement and nostalgia” of travelling behind an express steam locomotive from the “golden age of train travel,” a spokesperson from Vintage Trains said.
On Saturday, October 12, the locomotive, either a 7029 Clun Castle or 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe, will haul a “vintage carriage” to the historic Cathedral city of Lincoln. For passengers looking to make their journey “extra special”, there are the dining options of Pullman, a full English breakfast and evening four-course dinner, or First Class, bacon roll with pastries and an afternoon tea, a spokesperson said.
Beginning at Birmingham New Street, the train will be picking up passengers at Leicester and Loughborough, returning to the stations later in the day.
