Lincolnshire housebuilder Allison Homes has recently signed up for the new Deposit Unlock scheme, which aims to help property seekers secure their perfect home by reducing the burden of the initial deposit.
The Orchards development, Lincolnshire
The Deposit Unlock scheme was launched by The Home Builders Federation (HBF) in partnership with lenders and housebuilders. The scheme allows both first time buyers and existing homebuyers alike to purchase a new build home with just a five per cent deposit, and is available on homes across the UK priced up to £833,250*, with no regional price restrictions.
After paying the five per cent deposit, homebuyers that participate in the scheme are then able to secure a 95 per cent mortgage. The competitive deposit is possible because members of the HBF joined forces to create a nationwide insurance scheme that offers protection on participating mortgages.
John Anderson, CEO of Allison Group, said: “We are delighted to have signed up to participate in the Deposit Unlock scheme. At Allison Homes, we’re all about helping property seekers access their dream home, which is why we offer a variety of schemes and buying options to help make that dream a reality.
“This scheme is fantastic because when the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme ended in March last year, it left a gap for buyers who were struggling to raise their deposit. In the current climate, Deposit Unlock will really help aspirational homeowners get moving with five per cent.”
