Nigel Rivers says…
A little story for you.
I answered a Facebook call for someone with a trike to take his son to a school Prom evening and would be escorted by other bikers. The lad apparently had a tough time at school, but kept his head down, worked hard and did well in his final exams.
I didn’t know until the day before, but the lad I was taking had actually been attending Pentangle Engineering (my business) for the last two years as part of our working with a local school for their BTEC engineering course. He didn’t know that it was me either.
I found out that before he took the engineering course, he did not know what he wanted to do when he left school. But, since leaving has enrolled himself onto the Mechanical / Electrical engineering course at the local college.
I felt a sense of pride that we have played a part in helping him make a very big decision on his possible future and that engineering can still attract a new generation.
Josh is a very polite and humble “giant” of a young man (over 6’3”) and I asked him to contact me if he was to consider an apprenticeship after his first year, when he has had a chance to see if engineering is for him. It appears that there is value in introducing students to engineering early 😊
Very honoured to be able to help Josh make an incredible entrance at his Prom, with a very loud escort of over 30 bikes 🤘
