Jenny Walker, LGSM, BA (Hons), Dip Spec Ed
EVER since she was a small child, Jenny Walker has been musical.
She took piano lessons in her home town, Southampton, and has never strayed far from the piano.
Jennifer Sharon Gale, then gained a place at UCNW (University College North Wales) at Bangor, where she read music. This was followed by a year at Bretton Hall, near Leeds.
After marrying Michael, they moved to the Didcot and Sandy areas, where she took up teaching. At Sandy Upper School she taught French and ICT as well as music.
The couple moved to Grantham at the turn of the millennium and for 10 years she taught ICT at the King’s School until her post was made redundant.
Throughout her career there, she helped with the orchestra and choirs.
More recently, she spends two-and-a-half days a week as a freelance teacher at KGGS, promoting the finer points of piano playing, the rest of the week taking private tuition at home.
And she also plays the piano for fun, and occasionally at St John’s Church, where she still manages to find time to sing in the choir.
She is also accompanist for The Grantham Singers, The Belvoir Wassailers, and music director for Grantham Operatic Society as well as a composer for Piano Pronto, an online US publisher
