Bins collections in South Kesteven scheduled for the business week after Christmas and the first business week of the new year will take place a day later than usual, the district council has confirmed. Residents’ bins that would be collected on Tuesday, December 27 will be collected on Wednesday, December 28 and that pattern continues, with Friday’s round being picked up on Saturday, December 31.
Similarly, bins scheduled for collection on Monday, January 2 will be collected on Tuesday, concluding with Friday’s bins being collected on Saturday, January 7. This scheme is true for all collection days except Monday, December 26.
Bins slated for pick-up on Boxing Day will instead be collected two days earlier, on Saturday, December 24. Residents will need to have their bins out by 7.30am on the day of collection.
The first green garden bin collection day after Christmas will be on Monday, January 9 for those whose bins are emptied during the ‘green week’. Collection day will be on Monday, January 16 for ‘yellow week’ subscribers.
Residents with real Christmas trees will also be able to leave their trees out during these weeks, even if they do not subscribe to the scheme.
