Collision shuts major road near Grantham

The A52 Road closed due to spillage of diesel, both ways between the Redmile turn off and the Bottesford turn off. T

Traffic is coping well. The road was closed at around 16:15 due to a fuel spillage near the Elton turnoff, following a collision involving a Range Rover and a lorry.

Diversions in place.

Affecting traffic between Nottingham and Grantham

Road users travelling eastbound: 

• From the A52 Saxondale Island, take the exit onto the A46 and continue north for 21.9km until the roundabout with the A1/A17.
• At this roundabout, take the A1 southbound exit and follow the A1 for 23.5km until the A52 junction at Barrowby.
• At the top of the slip road rejoin the A52.

Road users travelling westbound: 

• From the A52 junction with the A1, take the northbound entry slip road for the A1 north and continue on the A1 for 23.5km.
• Take the exit slip road at Newark and head south on the A46 for 21.9km to re-join the westbound A52 at Saxondale roundabout
