Major road closed by collision near Grantham

Drivers are being asked to avoid the A52 west of Grantham this evening following a collision at Sedgebrook.

Police reported theinsident just after 4.45pm this afternoon. The traffic monitoring site Inrix is reporting that the travel time along the road is currently 15 minutes, and that traffic sensors show traffic between Grantham and Nottingham being affected.

The A52 has now been closed in both directions as a result. In their tweet on the incident,

Lincolnshire Police’s force control room said: “Officers are currently in attendance at a [crash] on the A52, Sedgebrook.  It is causing a back up of traffic which we are working to clear as soon as possible. Please avoid this area where possible.”
