With the exceptionally difficult year everyone has had because of COVID-19 and the restrictions, lots of us are feeling in need of a boost to our sense of well-being and mental health. With the gradual return to normality here is a chance to give yourself exactly that!
Grantham Tennis Club has been awarded a grant by the NHS to put on another of its very successful weekly “Feeling Good!” schemes designed to give an opportunity for local adults of all ages, levels of fitness and sporting experience (or lack of it!) to come and enjoy two hours of fun and togetherness in a healthy, safe and supportive environment.
The new sessions – 1p.m until 3 p.m. – start on Friday 7th May and are suitable for beginners, people who haven’t played since their school days or who are occasional tennis players.
If you think that joining in this great opportunity will give your sense of well-being or mental health a significant boost, then this “Feeling Good!“ project is for you!
It comes free of charge because the NHS is very keen to promote the important role in good physical and mental health of taking part in sport and exercise – especially in a fun, social setting.
For anyone without their own transport to and from the Tennis Club on Gonerby Rd, there is even the possibility of help getting there and back
Dale Wright, “Feeling Good!” organiser at Grantham Tennis Club, said “I can honestly say that people joining our weekly project all say that it makes an important contribution to their sense of well-being and good mental health. Learning the basics or improving your tennis skills provides a lot of enjoyment but even more important is the sense of fun, sharing and togetherness that make up our “Feeling Good!” sessions.”
