Pub chain Wetherspoons has confirmed plans to reopen outlets across the UK next month, as Boris Johnson lifts restrictions on hospitality businesses with outdoor areas.
It includes the Tollemache on St Peter’s Hill, Grantham.
The company, run by Tim Martin, said almost 400 branches with beer gardens and outdoor seating will return to business on April 12, serving alcohol through the app and a limited food menu.
JD Wetherspoon bosses shuttered pubs in January a result of lockdown restrictions in England, but the company now hopes to reopen all 875 outlets by May 17.
Chief executive John Hutson said: “We are looking forward to welcoming our customers and staff back to our pubs.”
From April 12, around 394 branches will reopen from 9am until 9pm from Sunday to Thursday, and from 9am until 10pm on Friday to Saturday.
Wetherspoons customers will be able to pay through the free app, although staff members will still be on hand to take orders and payment at tables.
Pubs are not allowed to open for indoor bookings until May 17 under the Prime Minister’s road map, which aims to lift all Covid restrictions in England by June 21.
