The former Grantham nurse who murdered four children has reportedly been given the coronavirus vaccine.
Beverly Allitt, from Corby Glen, was given 13 life sentences after she was convicted of murdering four youngsters while working as a nurse at Grantham Hospital in 1993.
She is renowned as one of Lincolnshire’s most notorious criminals for her crimes in which she attempted to murder three other children and caused grievous bodily harm to another six.
Her crimes were considered so sick and twisted that she earned the nickname ‘The Angel of Death’.
According to The Sun, Allitt, now 52, has received a Covid-19 vaccination ahead of a victim left severely disabled by her actions.
It is not known if Allitt is classed as clinically extremely vulnerable which would entitle her to a jab alongside over-70s.
During her trial in 1993, the jury heard that psychiatrists who had examined her had concluded she was suffering from Munchausen Syndrome by proxy, a mental illness where sufferers crave attention.
She was found guilty and ordered to be held indefinitely in Rampton High Security Psychiatric Hospital, in Nottinghamshire.
Dr Julie Hankin, Executive Medical Director at Nottinghamshire Healhcare NHS Foundation Trust said:“Our patients are being vaccinated at the same time as the general public and in line with the priority groups set out by the independent Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation.”
