Councils across the county are asking for your help in a bid to help make the communications around recycling simpler.
The Lincolnshire Waste Partnership, made up of district councils and the county council, is asking for residents to step forward to be part of a new residents’ recycling panel.
Rachel Stamp, programme manager, explains: “One of the major issues we are trying to tackle is how to reduce contamination rates in the recycling. These have been slowly rising over the last few months, particularly through the Covid 19 pandemic and we’re at a stage now where we need to make a change.
“We need to get better at helping our residents get recycling right. By getting residents involved in the process, we can create the right materials in the right styles and have the right conversations which work for our communities.
“This is the first step in the process. We hope to be able to work with this group of residents, understand their thoughts, opinions and ideas – We need to work together to get recycling right.”
It is expected to take no more than two hours per month.
Residents wishing to get involved should email Rachel.stamp@lincolnshire.gov.uk or call 07786 110782.
