“Ahead of this Bank Holiday weekend I’d like to say thank you to everyone who has followed Government advice since lockdown began, helping to keep themselves and others safe.
“Guidelines and restrictions have changed, allowing people to spend more time outside.
“The risk from Coronavirus remains. These new guidelines mean that there is a real focus on an individual’s personal responsibility; to maintain 2m social distancing; and to stay at home as much as possible to help prevent the spread of the virus.
“There are some activities that remain prohibited such as gatherings of three or more people not from the same household, or travelling to visit others in their home unless there is a very good reason such as a medical need.
“Our officers will continue to patrol across the County; engaging with members of our communities; explaining the guidance; and encouraging those very few breaking the rules to behave differently.
“This approach is the same since restrictions were brought in and we will only enforce as a last resort.
“Through what has been a challenging time due to the pandemic, our focus has remained on serving our communities. With your help, we can help prevent the spread of the virus.”
