On Tuesday 10 December 2019 at about 11:35 am, as reported by GM shortly afterwards, an 80 year old woman had her purse stolen from her handbag in Sainsbury’s in Grantham.
Her purse contained a bank card, about £400 in notes, and a couple of photographs – including one of her late husband.
Approximately 10 minutes after the theft, an attempt was made to use the bank card at the Spar on Bridge End Road. Extensive CCTV inquiries have failed to identify the offender.
An appeal on the JustGiving website raised the money from an appalled public to cover her loss, but police still want to convict the perpetrator.
Police are renewing their appeal to the public for anyone with any information to come forward quoting incident 287 of 10 December 2019.
