South Kesteven residents who want to vote in the General Election have just a week left to make sure they are on the electoral register.
Polling cards are being sent out across the district and anyone who does not receive one is being encouraged to check if they are registered.
The message is simple – if you are not registered, it takes just a few minutes to apply online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote You have until 11.59pm on Tuesday 26 November to register.
If you require a postal vote, you will need to apply by 5pm on 26 November.
The electoral register is held by the electoral registration office in every local authority. You can check if you are on the register by contacting SKDC’s Electoral Services team on 01476 40 60 80 or by email at elections@southkesteven.gov.uk
The elections will take place on Thursday 12 December so don’t miss out on your right to vote.
Voters can check polling cards to identify which of the 86 polling stations they should vote at. Details of polling station locations can also be found at southkesteven.gov.uk/pollingstation
If you are unable to vote at your polling station on polling day you can apply to vote by post or by proxy (appointing someone else to vote at the polling station for you). The deadline for applying for a proxy vote is 5pm on Wednesday 4 December.
Postal and proxy vote applications cannot be submitted online and must be signed and returned to the Electoral Registration Officer, South Kesteven District Council, Council Offices, St Peter’s Hill, Grantham NG31 6PZ to be received by the deadlines above. Scanned copies of application forms can be returned by email to elections@southkesteven.gov.uk
