Hope Trust East Midlands plan to offer the free counselling services to those affected by rape and sexual abuse.
Currently a community group of interested Counsellors, these three Grantham women plan to register for Charitable Incorporated Organisation status in the coming months and bring to life a much needed service in the area.
Original co-founders Katherine and Michelle approached Holly to help with the marketing and set up of the Charity and the trio was born.
Katherine said “When we decided to go ahead with the new venture we were thinking primarily about getting our previous clients the support they need, now we have to look at it from a different perspective.
Before we can present the service to the public we will need a level of investment that will enable premises and office equipment to get us up and running.”
Holly agreed, “we will be approaching Grantham businesses and locals, cap in hand. We will need funding and we believe that not only is this service vital to a great number of East Midlands residents, it is a huge asset to Grantham. We plan to take on volunteer counsellors from the local college and other local institutions as well. We want Grantham at the heart of this project.”
Michelle added, “we want to thank Eddie Johnson for helping with the logo and Michele at Primrose and Bee for offering to help with the website. We are extremely grateful and really proud of how Hope Trust is beginning to take shape.”
Earlier this month Trust House Lincolnshire, the local charity previously providing this service, closed its doors to the public.
