The Thinker says
This crew won’t be content until they have covered over every inch of ground with yet more non affordable housing.
You only have to travel around this country to witness some of the vast housing estates of so called “Luxury Housing” to discover that the excuse of “affordable housing” is a con and one that is being exploited by money grubbing developers.
They are very quick to build on green field sites as it is cheaper than the alternative of having to clean up brown field sites. The whole process stinks.
I’m all for Council housing to be built, which can provide homes for people at a rent which can be afforded and still allow the individual/s a decent quality of life without running into debt in trying to pay the rent.
I am also in favour of affordable properties being built but when they are these are often bought up in bulk by rental developers to rent out at vastly over inflated prices, They make vast profits drive around in expensive cars while the person renting is living in debt….
