The nine arrested as part of this investigation have been released with no further action. The investigation has now concluded.
Update, September 23: The six women and three men arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident in Grantham, on Saturday, have been released on bail.
Police investigation continues following an altercation at a house in Finkin Street, which was reported to us at about 10.35pm.
The victim, a 38-year-old man, was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham. He sustained a puncture wound to his abdomen but the injury was not life-threatening.
At this stage this is believed to have been an incident restricted to the group of people who were arrested.
We appreciate that this may have been an unsettling incident for people in the town, and patrols are ongoing in the area. The scene guard has now been lifted.

Original release, September 22: Police are asking for witnesses to contact us following an altercation at a house in Finkin Street, Grantham last evening (Saturday). We were called to the house at about 2235 to reports of a man who had been seriously assaulted. As a result, officers arrested 6 women & 3 men aged between 28 & 52 years, for an offence of attempt murder. A 38 year old man received a non-life threatening puncture wound to his abdomen. A scenes of crime examination will take place at the house today.
Those arrested will be interviewed today (Sunday) as the investigation continues but at this stage the incident seems to have been restricted to the group of people who were arrested.
