Sad to say the destruction of architecturally pleasing buildings for the modern, tasteless, characterless, faceless buildings thrown up in their place seems to continue to this day. When “they”have destroyed everything that makes a town both pleasing to look at and to live in it will be not the town it was but a town “they” have created in their own image.
Take a good long hard look at any of the so called New towns up and down the country, certainly not places where you would want to live and thrive.

Oh I agree with you we should be building homes for the young that they can afford to buy, and again you’re correct when you say we had the best of it.
What we have is greedy money grabbing developers throwing up as many houses that they can that the young first time buyer can never afford, and that pi++es me off. Up and down the country and Grantham is part of all this all you see are houses advertised as luxury housing with two bathrooms 4 bedrooms blah blah.We need houses that people can either rent at an affordable rent or buy at a reasonable cost, but Greeves it ain’t going to happen too much money to be made to worry about the homeless or the young.
