Great Grantham stars of music and comedy had got together to stage a concert for the vitims of the Wainfleet floods, on Lincolnshire’s East Coast.
Grantham-born Vince Eager says the plight of the residents of Wainfleet and the surrounding areas of Lincolnshire who were flooded out of their house and homes made him want to do something.
He said: ” Only four days ago, four of my pals from Grantham, Ms Ali James, Mr Brian “Licorice” Locking, Mr Trevor Leeson and Mr Terry Carey offered to appear in a show to raise funds for the flood victims if I could arrange it.
“The Embassy Theatre had one date we could have and that was Wednesday 3rd July.
“With the help of my good pal from Skegness Coastal Radio, Mr Chris Tucker who will also be our host for the event, we decided to go for it.
“If you live in the area of Lincolnshire we would appreciate your company at the show, “Yellow Bellies Unite”.
Many thanks and I’ll keep you informed as to our progress. It’s a 7.30pm start
