The leaders of Lincolnshire County Council, North East Lincolnshire Council and North Lincolnshire Council have pledged to work more closely together for the greater benefit of their residents.
Cllr Martin Hill, leader of Lincolnshire County Council, said: “All our councils are committed to providing good services to our residents, and, together, we can do that in a more effective and efficient way.
“We’re determined to innovate at every opportunity, making services better rather than just keeping them the same. This is no easy task at a time of hugely reduced funding, and with both demand and our responsibilities growing.
“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved in recent years, and will be looking to build on those successes in the future.”
Cllr Philip Jackson, leader of North East Lincolnshire Council, said: “We look forward to working with our neighbours to make Greater Lincolnshire a place we can all be proud of and a better place to live, work and play.
“If we want to attract people to the new industries that are developing here, such as the renewables sector, then we need to make it an attractive place for companies to come and for people to move their families to – as well as for residents already enjoying life here.
“I believe our councils have the skills and experience to make that happen.”
Cllr Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, added: “We’re all ambitious for the future of Greater Lincolnshire and will be investing in our communities.
“We’ll be looking to regenerate our area, while also protecting essentials like schools and roads.
“In addition, we will ensure council tax remains low, and will keep securing jobs for local people.”
