The A1 is currently closed from its junction with the B1081 (Wothorpe, Burghley Park) to the A47 (Wansford) with delays of at least 30 minutes covering several miles of the southbound carriageway. This closure is due to a overturned HGV and Highways England has resources deployed working hard to restore normal conditions as soon as possible. In addition there is a lane 2 closed on the northbound carriageway which is also causing long delays.
For traffic approaching the closure locally, you are advised to expect disruption with extra journey time and may potentially have to re-route your journey.
If travelling towards this area from much farther afield, you may wish to change your strategic route, allow extra travel time and follow guidance from our on-road variable message signs and media. Diversion route is to follow the hollow triangle. Exit the A1 at the A43 south of Stamford and travel southbound to Duddington. Take the 1st exit at the rbt and travel east on the A47, re-join the A1 near Wansford.
