Erasmus placement saw group of students work hard in Spanish food businesses
Catering students from Grantham got a taste for Spanish cuisine after completing a series of work placements over two weeks in Valencia.
The group, which consisted of a mix of Level 2 and 3 students, were accompanied on the Erasmus journey to the Spanish city by tutors Hazel Gunby, Tracey West and Richard White.
The placement involved working in a variety of settings, from bakeries, patisseries and restaurants.
Students were given the chance to contrast and compare the diet of Spanish people with more familiar British meals.
Level 2 Catering student Emily Skerritt admitted she had never been abroad before the trip, but is delighted she took part and wanted to encourage others to do the same.
She said: “I really enjoyed the full experience. You would regret not going if you had the chance.”
Emidio Curado, who is on the Level 3 course, added: “This is my last year at college, and I’m gutted I can’t go again.”
