Lucky players of LotterySK have won over £36,000 since it started in October.
Recent cash winners included supporters of Foxdale Equine Assisted Learning, Grantham Canal and Trust House Lincolnshire.
As well as giving players the chance to win a £25,000 jackpot each week, Lottery SK helps local good causes, who receive 60p for every £1 ticket sold – more than twice the proportion raised by the National Lottery.
South Kesteven District Council Deputy Leader Cllr Kelham Cooke, said: “The response to LotterySK has been amazing and it’s wonderful to see the number and breadth of good causes which will benefit from ticket sales every single week. Residents are signing up for weeks of tickets at a time, which confirms the generosity I know we have in this district.
“We will soon see how the lottery funds generated are working within the community. Raising money is always a challenge and more charities and more good causes can get involved at any time. The more tickets good causes sell, the more money they will receive.”
So far 83 causes and charities have registered as beneficiaries. The latest charities to be approved include:
Grantham Youth Bowling Club
G.R.O.W. Gardens Restore Our Wellbeing
Beat-It East Midlands
Little Miracles Bourne
Deepings Swimming Club
2nd Grantham St Wulfram’s Scout Group
All of the good causes together will receive a total £73,800 this year as players continue to show support by buying tickets for the weekly draw. There are 2,350 already bought for this week by almost 1,200 players. The next draw is on Saturday 16 March.
Lottery players have a one in 50 chance of winning one of the prizes, which range from three extra tickets to the £25,000 jackpot. For tickets – or to register as a good cause – visit www.lotterysk.co.uk
LotterySK gift vouchers are also available, which can be used in full, or as part-payment if the recipient decides to play for longer. You can also choose the good cause for them – or let them decide when they redeem your gift voucher.
