Man’s body found in wood

Emergency services called to a popular wood east of Grimsthorpe have discovered a body.

Police, paramedics including four ambulances and the air ambulance were called to Bourne Woods just after 11.30am this morning

They have since revealed a man’s body had been found.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called to Bourne Woods at 11.38am.

“A man was found unresponsive and later pronounced deceased.”

They said the death is not being treated as suspicious.

An EMAS spokesperson said: “An emergency 999 call was received at 11.42am on Friday 8 March 2018, requesting assistance at Bourne Woods.

“Our Emergency Operations Centre colleagues sent two clinicians in fast response cars, two clinicians in an ambulance, and colleagues in the air ambulance also responded.

 “All EMAS resources had left the scene by 1.06pm.”
