Barry Nash (1952-2015)
Barry played for Grantham United and made occasional appearances for Grantham Town, making his debut against Nuneaton Borough in May 1977.
He played twice for The Gingerbreads the following season and returned to help out Barry Shaw at the end of the 1985/86 campaign, with his last appearance for the club at VS Rugby.
His playing career ended due to an injury while with Mirlees Blackstone (Stamford) during the 1988/89 season, which led to his return to London Road as the club’s Reserves Team Manager. Following this, Barry went on to take over the helm at Harrowby United.
He worked for BT when it was on Earlesfield Lane, at Grantham and District Hospital as a porter and spent his last few years at PWG Barracks before taking early retirement.
He died following a long illness on 22 November 2015
A Grantham lad, he moved to Osbournby, but returned to Barrowby Gate, Grantham.
