March 5, 2026 Leave a Comment

Resurfacing scheme for Easton - Plan diversion route 4

From the A1 junction to Easton Lane is getting a surface improvement

Executive member for Highways at LCC, Cllr David East said: “With the volume of traffic that uses this particular junction, this is essential resurfacing work to keep the top of the road in good condition.

“This set of works is being put in as part of the ongoing improvements to the B6403. It follows previous improvement schemes between the A17 and Barkston Heath and we have a similar scheme coming for the B6403 Woodnook in May.”

Location of works

The works will be carried out on the B6403 High Dike, Easton. From the junction of the A1 to the junction with Easton Lane.

Dates and times

Work will start on Monday March 16 and have a planned end date of Thursday April 9. Working hours will be from 7pm to 6am.

These dates will include weekend working, but exclude the Easter weekend.

Please note that access to and from the A1 will not be available overnight between the Monday March 16 and Sunday March 29. From Monday March 30 onwards access will be via the A1 only. A signed diversion route will be in place during these times.

Traffic management

Traffic management operatives will be available to advise on progress and assist motorists alongside a road closure that is required for the duration of the works.

Diversion route

The signed diversion route will be; A1, A151, B1176, B6403 and vice versa.

Cllr East added: “We will do everything we can to minimise the disruption from these critical works. Because this scheme is happening on an overnight programme, we will use specialist equipment with noise-lessening tech fitted, and make sure that the machines are turned off when not needed.

“I am sorry for any inconvenience which these works may cause and thank everyone effected by them for their patience and understanding during the work programme schedule.”
